Chippewa Valley Orthopedics & Sports Medicine provides the athletic trainer program to area schools and community events, including the annual youth soccer tournament and the Eau Claire Express baseball team.

Injuries to young athletes can be painful for the athlete, distressing to parents and family and disappointing to their teammates. The High School Outreach Sports Medicine Program was started in 1986 by Dr. John Drawbert, orthopedic surgeon, a Fellowship Trained and Board Certified sports medicine specialist, in practice at the Chippewa Valley Orthopedics and Sports Medicine clinic. Dr. Troy Berg, also a Fellowship Trained orthopedic surgeon and Sports Medicine Specialist, joined the practice in 1998. The program is designed to keep young athletes healthy and when injured, get them back in action as quickly and safely as possible.

Since 1986, the program has grown and expanded to reach 15 area high schools and middle schools in Western Wisconsin. Today, sports medicine specialists, Dr. John Drawbert and Dr. Troy Berg offer the most comprehensive sports medicine program in the area. Their team of licensed and certified athletic trainers works with young athletes to evaluate injuries, protect against re-injury, and is available for the athletes at practices and during athletic events throughout the school year.

Injuries happen.

“Sometimes getting back in the game requires the expertise of a trained Sports Medicine professional. Don’t be sidelined from the lifestyle you deserve. Make an appointment now to assess the problem and get started on a plan of treatment to get you back into action!”
